Folklife: Day One

Yesterday was the first day of Folklife, the free music festival in Seattle. I love Folklife. The variety of music is amazing. The feel of the place was darker yesterday, not entirely comfortable. Years ago the people who attended were genuinely interested in the music.

However, seen yesterday:

Ricardo Cardenas, guitarist from South America playing songs from Paraguay, Argentina, etc. Beautiful player. This is what is so wonderful about Folklife; the chance to hear music from all over the world.

Also heard: Miss Rose and her Rhythm Percolators with songs from the Jazz Age, a bagpipe/drum group just jamming on one of the lawns, and two young children busking along one of the walks.

Food eaten: gyros and peach cobbler.
